Reva Mattson was born and raised in New York and began drawing and painting as far back as she can remember. Upon graduating from Art School in New York Reva moved to California where she raised her family and managed a thriving career as an Art Director.
At San Francisco's prestigious De Young Museum Art School Reva studied for seven years under the tutelage of Michael Cookingham, and was also a Founding Member of Mica Art School, a S.F. based Art Critic Group. Reva has exhibited her oil paintings in San Francisco, Marin County and Los Angeles over the years, has won Merit Awards for her figurative oils, and is best known for her expressive and insightful portrait oil studies. Reva now devotes full time to painting and opened her Twin Palms Studio in Pasadena, Ca.
Capturing my heart and soul, the colorful streets of Mexico has been an inspirational source of my paintings ever since I began my travels to the magical and beautiful cities of San Miguel De Allende and Guanajuato, Mexico twenty years ago. Streetscapes that the viewer can enter, foliage that seems to flow with energy combine with the vitality of my own personal connection to the subject at hand.
