1977: Received Mexican citizenship
1981: First exhibition in Mexico City's "Galeria Solaris", in the
Zona Rosa District
1983-85: Collective Exhibitions in Acapulco, Guerrero, including
exhibitions in "Amigos de Acapulco", where he won second prize in
the Oils and Acrylics category.
1991: Exhibition "Flores de Anahuac" in the Museo Diego Rivera and
the conference "The Flowers of Mexico, their significance and
importance". This exhibition was also show in the Delegaciones of Mexico
City and in the Recinto de Asambleístas. He was give a commemorative plaque
by the Asambleístas of Mexico City.
1996: Collective exhibition of the alumni of the Corcoran School of Art in
Washington, D.C.
1998 & 2000: Participated in the exhibition and sale of ceramics by the
students of Jill Hinckley Studio, Washington, D.C.
2000: February - Exhibition of paintings, sumi-e and ceramics at the Puertecita Boutique
Hotel.
2000: December - Galería Izamal,
paintings and ceramics, solo exhibition.
2003: March-June – First Biennial of Utilitarian
Ceramics (1a Bienal de Cerámica Utilitaria), Museo Franz Mayer, Mexico City.
A work by Yasuaki Yamashita, a bowl entitled Bosque de mi Infancia
(Forest of my Childhood) was selected for the Biennial, which was organized by the Museo Franz
Mayer, the site of the exhibition from March 6 to June 1, 2003. The exhibition will then travel to the
following venues in Mexico: Museo de Historia Mexicana, Monterrey, June 25-August 31, 2002; Museo
Amparo, Puebla, September 25-November 23, 2003; Central Cultural Santo Domingo, Oaxaca, January-April
2004; Instituto Cultural Cabañas, Guadalajara, April-June 2004.
2003: September-October – Museum of the City of Querétaro (Museo de la
Ciudad de Querétaro). “Torneando el Arte,” (Turning Art),
a one-man show of ceramic art by Yasuaki Yamashita
held at the Museum, located in Querétaro at the corner of
Guerrero and Hidalgo streets, September 6-October 30,
2003.
2004: January - Historical Museum of San Miguel de Allende (Museo
Casa Allende). “Naturaleza y yo,” (Nature and I), a one-
man show of sumi-e (Japanese ink and brush painting),
ceramics, and traditional watercolor, oil, acrylic
paintings held at the Museum, Cuna de Allende No. 1,
San Miguel de Allende, January 6-January 31, 2004.
