Evolution of Geometric Abstract Art: Seeing the Beauty of a Cosmic World

…one feels her embrace the intensity of color, movement and tension and one comes to recognize the ability of art to evoke a visceral response.

– The American Book Review

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA, USA, April 6, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — Inspired by American hard-edge, color-field geometric abstraction paintings of the 1950s and 1960s, Color-Field Paintings presents the experimentation and the evolution of the artist Fiore Ai in geometric abstract paintings from 1971 to 1974. This book is a collection of prints and paintings by the artist. The paintings depict translucent, prismatic light, with plays of soft color gradients against hard edges and spatial divisions. They are both subtle and bold, fluid and tense, moving through space evoking a cosmic world.

Then it presents paintings of experimental colors and shapes to drawings from 1971 to 1972 and more complex styles from 1972 to 1974. Each painting image has text detailing the general and technical aspects of the work. The book ends with the artist’s perspective on her hopes and next steps.

“Reading and viewing the Color-Field paintings effortlessly created a similar feeling of relaxation and teasing. As with most works of art, having the viewer categorize and diffuse meaning or feeling is a individual experience.
— Pacific Book Review.

“Ai’s Color-Field Paintings offers a conceptual and visual feast for art lovers, as well as inspirational and technical details for serious artists. His descriptive words complement his images and provide insight into the technical complexity of creating each composition of shapes, waves, rays, prisms, gradations of light and hue.
