Enjoy summer marathons in drawing, painting, and sculpting at New York Studio School

The Studio School of New York’s Marathons explores drawing, painting, and sculpture as direct methodologies for understanding one’s experience in the world. Participants experience a wide range of activating and first-hand strategies for making art, in tandem with the intellectual rigor of numerous group and individual critiques. The innovation and depth inherent in these 10-day programs expands participants’ engagement with the materials of their choice, leading to ways of creating that continue well beyond the conclusion of each program. Open to artists of all skill levels, classes are offered daily in person or online from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

Virtual Marathons are an incredible opportunity for artists around the world to experience high-caliber NYSS Marathons from their respective homes and studios. Delivered in real time via Zoom and Padlet, these classes bring the rigorous drills, deep knowledge and deep connections of in-person marathons to participants via virtual means.
