Art builds bridges; art connects. Join us as we explore how to think more deeply by looking and reflecting on some late 19th century American still lifes. Probe the still lifes of Martin Johnson Heade, pondering the question: what is surprising here? – and probe the still lifes of Raphaelle Peale, reflecting on the question: how does the artist connect us to his still lifes? Join us for this docent-led conference and explore how art builds bridges and connects us.
“Artists strive to express not only the anatomy of bodies, but also the anatomy of the human condition and the universe that affects it.” —David N. Perkins
