World renowned digital artist, Refik Anadolcreated a series of amazing artworks, based on data from the crew’s experiments on the recent Inspiration4 spaceflight.

This groundbreaking work is a collaboration with creative agency //CreativeWorkStudios. and the NASA-funded Translational Research Institute for Space Health (TRISH), which has partnered with the Inspiration4 flight on SpaceX Dragon – the world’s first all-civilian mission in orbit – to perform a series of experiments to discover the effects of space on the human body.

Turkish-American Refik Anadol interpreted TRISH’s data, in addition to other information, such as vehicle data and audio/visual recordings of the flight, as the basis for a series of artworks limited-edition non-fungible token (NFT) game, which will be available for purchasein partnership with Manifold Studio, starting April 10.

A partner in NASA’s Human Research Program, TRISH funds research into how the vastly different conditions found in space impact everything from astronauts’ cells to their skeletons.

Its goal is to help reduce health and other risks so people can live longer in space and venture deeper into the universe – even setting foot on Mars.

It also helps provide information that can be used to develop solutions to common medical and human performance issues on earth.

An impressive 30% of all NFT sales will be donated to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, USA, which has a particular focus on cancer.

Inspiration4 crew member Hayley Arceneaux is a childhood cancer survivor and now a medical assistant at St Jude.

“This important collaboration, funded by the Benge-Hury Family Foundation and Baylor College of Medicine, transforms space health research into an inspiring and accessible art,” said James Hury, Deputy Director and Chief Innovation Officer of TRISH.

J.Harry Edmiston, Founder and Director of NFT //CreativeWorkStudios., who conceived and coordinated the project, said: “We are thrilled to witness this one-of-a-kind interaction between art and science. , as we push ourselves beyond normal spheres of human experience and beyond new frontiers. Refik’s interpretation of these spaceflight datasets will challenge what it means to be human and demonstrate that we are in a new era of space research that will benefit all of humanity.

The international artist himself added, “Art should be for everyone, of all ages and backgrounds.”

Refik continued, “My way is to use collective memories, and Inspiration4 is a memory for humanity. As a media artist and data artist, working with spatial data has been a long-held dream. My studio is deeply honored.
