Recent paintings by Marie Ferraro

Miami Dade College Homestead Campus is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings by Marie Ferraro. Stop by campus before September 9 for a rare glimpse of the beautiful, lush color and unparalleled brushwork of this underappreciated talent.

Marie Ferraro is a painter in the true sense of the term. Many artists come to the tradition of painting later in life. This is the case of Ferraro. In 2014, after a successful career in a different field, she started focusing on creating art. She told me that she never did anything halfway and that she wanted to be able to devote all her attention to her new passion. This passion is on full display in these 19 paintings.

Some notable images include Palm with a portrait of my brother, Usine Matissian, Blackwaters and Snowfall on city hill. These paintings demonstrate the wide range of techniques mastered by Ferraro. Like David Smith, who has dabbled in many different styles throughout his career, Ferraro is comfortable jumping between watercolour, acrylic and oil without hesitation.

The gallery in building D is open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
