Ceiling frescoes by Michelangelo in Vatican City Sixtine Chapel are invaluable displays of innovation and artistry. From now on, no one has to visit Rome to see for themselves the works of art in the chapel.
It comes through a new display, Exhibition of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo – an exhibition that “shows the awe and wonder of arguably one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements” – and will bring Michelangelo’s ceiling frescoes to Philly later this month.
The exhibit will open to the Philadelphia public on Friday, January 21 in the city’s Fashion District.
The exhibition allows visitors to experience the work up close in a display similar to the original hosted in Italy.
Michelangelo’s work has been reproduced in a format that allows for face-to-face viewing, and over 30 reproductions will be on display.
The exhibition made its way through a tour, bringing Michelangelo’s vision to prolific cities such as New York, London, Vancouver and now Philadelphia.
Presented by the SEE family © Global Entertainment, the program for the complete visit of the exhibition is available on its site.
The exhibition in Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel was designed to provide a museum-quality experience.
“This exhibit gives visitors a chance to experience Rome’s most iconic treasures in a way that has never been possible,” said Martin Biallas, CEO of SEE © Global Entertainment and producer of the exhibit.
Perceiving the original exhibit in Italy as somewhat weakened by long queues and rushed viewing time, Biallas produced the exhibit after visiting the Sistine Chapel in Rome.
“This exhibition in the Fashion District of Philadelphia allows everyone to see incredible art at their own pace and up close, at an affordable price, and have an inspiring and unforgettable experience,” he said.
Guests can participate in the exhibit using an audio guide providing stories in multiple languages such as Spanish, French, Chinese, Korean, and German.
Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel exhibit will be available in Philly for a selected period starting January 21.
