HALLOWELL – The Harlow plans to present “Explorations” this month, a solo exhibition of mixed-media paintings by Brunswick artist Erin Seegers.
Explorations will open Friday, June 10 and will be on view through Saturday, July 23 at the gallery at 100 Water St. The Harlow will host an opening reception from 4:30-6:30 p.m. on June 10.
The Harlow will also host two additional programs coordinated with this exhibition, including an artist talk at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 and 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, June 17. Erin Seegers and Spindleworks artist Tarah Cram will host a mixed media sketchbook. workshop in Harlow.
All events are free and open to the public.
Seegers says of his intuitive process: “I see my art as a practice. A practice of inquiry, an opportunity to connect with the mysterious perceptions of time, language, structure, emptiness, relationship and curiosity, and the unexplainable elements of being human,” according to a statement. gallery press releases.
Seegers’ works are abstract, bold in color and design, and have a richly layered surface.
The Harlow is a nonprofit dedicated to connecting and celebrating art, artists, and community in historic downtown Hallowell since 1963. The Harlow is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
