Tipperary Art Gallery will host its first exhibition opening night in over two years

The Narrow Space Gallery in Mitchel Street, Clonmel will host its first exhibition opening night in over two and a half years on Friday 22 April.

After The Storm is the title of the exhibition, which celebrates 25 years of Welsh-born artist John L Davies living and working under Slievenamon, and which also coincides with his 70th birthday.

After The Storm explores the inner and outer landscape of the strange past two years. The paintings are reflections of sight, sound and color, all by means of oil colours.

Having spent his life exploring the landscape through watercolors, these new works further develop everything John has learned as an artist. New perspectives are opening up in the field of color.

“It’s so exciting to be back and open the gallery to visitors on an opening night,” said gallerist Aisling Kilroy.

“It’s been a long time coming! And what finer work than John L Davies to begin with. I know the gallery will be full of beauty. And these works will be a fresh start for John who is normally a watercolourist.”

The exhibition will be opened by Eimear King of the South Tipperary Arts Center and will run until the end of May. Admission is free and all are welcome.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
